Info by  aaardvaark

The Inland Dotterel is a wader that adapted to the drying Australian climate and now lives predominately in areas with less than 100mm (4") of summer rain. It has beautiful cryptic markings and is most active at night, so not so easy to see. Fortunately Beeater spied this pair while the rest of us wandered the dry plains looking at less interesting things.
